Day15: Weekly Blog

Day 14

The burn on the Blueberry sure isn't stopping it's growth. The White Widow seems as little dry so I'm keeping an eye on it. Skywalker is doing well as always.

Day 13

Under the advice from other growers, I have removed the plastic around the rockwool cubes and lowered the lighting.

Day 12: RIP Stawberry Cough

The Strawberry Cough seems to be down for the count, but the other plants are still going strong and the White Widow has made a full recovery from the bent stem.

Day 11

The Strawberry Cough is starting to grow again and the White Widow's stem bend has healed up and it's standing on its own again.

Day 10: Merry Christmas!

Well, the tips of the leaves didn't survive on the Strawberry Cough so I trimmed them up a little. Otherwise everything is moving along fine.

Day 9

Well, the Strawberry Cough is recovering though the leaves are still a little dry, but it's standing up again at least. While tying up the White Widow I bent the stem, but my research tells me that it should recover as well though it will focus all energy on fixing the bend before it continues growing. All I can say is that this is still better than dead plants.

Day 4: Sprouts!

It required a little patience with some of them, but all of the plants have finally sprouted.

I've lowered the CFL lighting to about six inches above the sprouts, removed the humidity domes and have started a fan inside the closet.

I decided to remove the white cups and swapped them out for clear tupperware so the seedlings would have light and humidity and today I saw my first sprout, which is from the White Widow. Thought they don't show up on camera I can see the other seedlings working their way up to the top of the rockwool. Yay!

Nothing new. Seeds still need a little more time to germinate. But as you can see I added an oscillating fan ($20 at Walmart) which I placed on some Styrofoam. I also had to move the plugs into a new electrical outlet outside of the closet because I killed the outlet in the closet by accidentally touching a new chain for the lights to an ever-so-slightly exposed wire on the lights. Honestly, I'm just grateful it didn't pop the light bulbs into my face and cause serious damage.

The fun has officially begun!

Day 1



I have my hydroponics kit from Stealth Hydro up and running with my seeds purchased from the Single Seeds Centre. Both sites were great to order from. Stealth Hydro has a variety of kits and whatnot that are of interest to the hydroponic gardener. And Single Seeds Centre is a great cheaper way to get seeds when you only need a few instead of buying a whole ten pack. I purchased two each of White Label's White Widow and from Dutch Passion: Blueberry, Skywalker, and Strawberry Cough.

It went pretty uneventfully except for dropping a very expensive flowering light bulb, but luckily I don't need that yet and have the money to get a new one.

School is currently out of session, but only for another week or so.

Welcome to Pot For Teacher! I'm Miss Crystal and will be guiding you along in my first attempt at a hydroponic cannabis garden via this daily photo blog and a weekly video blog on youtube.

At the moment I am looking at about a week before I my hydroponics kit and seeds arrive. But it should be worth the wait. While tending to my first garden I will be encountering setting up and maintaining the system, low stress training, and whatever else gets thrown at me.
